2017 Fall Celebration of Philanthropy

Each year, the Community Foundation of the Holland/Zeeland Area hosts an annual fall event to celebrate community members whose philanthropy is creating lasting, positive change in our region. This event is an important opportunity for our community to come together to support charitable giving and for us to build awareness about our work to build our Community's Endowment and to help donors achieve their charitable goals.

This annual event brings together more than 600 community leaders and Foundation supporters for an evening of celebrating our community's generosity while enjoying grazing-style dining from a number of the area's best restaurants, bakeries, and caterers.

Event Location

The 2017 event will again be held at the Eldean Boat Shed, 2223 South Shore Drive.

Complimentary valet parking is available and generously provided by At Your Service Valet.

Event Details

Join us for A Bright Night at the Eldean Boat Shed! Celebrate our community's generosity while enjoying an evening of grazing featuring cuisine from the area's finest restaurants!

The social hour with appetizers and cocktails will begin at 5:30pm with dinner and program to follow at 6:45pm.

We strongly encourage guests to arrive as close to 5:30pm as possible to maximize time to connect with other attendees prior to the grazing-style dinner and the program.

Ticket Information/Purchase Tickets/RSVP

Event tickets are $150/person. 80% of the ticket cost is tax-deductible.Thanks to a generous sponsor, we offer a half price discount to young professionals and first time event attendees.

Table sponsorship pricing begins at $2,000 for a reserved table of 8 with table tent acknowledgement, and recognition on event program and website. (90% tax-deductible).

Note: The nametag at the event entrance will serve as your ticket. There are no physical event tickets.

What to Wear

Attire is smart casual/business casual. Have fun and let your clothing reflect your personal taste in fashion. Jeans are accepted as well as suits.

This year's theme is A Bright Night, accented by vibrant and bold watercolors, so feel free to follow the theme and channel your inner brightness!

How does this grazing event work?

Many of the area's finest restaurants will provide a variety of small plate entrées and desserts following a lively cocktail hour and appetizers.

Note: If you miss the appetizer hour, you may not get to sample some of the restaurant creations as they will likely not still be available during dinner!

What if I have special dietary restrictions?

We work with the restaurants to ensure that there are multiple options available for those that are vegetarian, vegan, and/or gluten-free. These items will be indicated on the event menus along with the menu item descriptions. Additional questions can be directed to Nicole at npaquette@cfhz.org or 616-994-8854. The restaurant staff present at each station will also be happy to answer any questions throughout the evening.

Annual Luncheon

Our 2017 annual luncheon was held on Thursday, May 18th, 2017 at the Haworth Inn and Conference Center. This event fills to capacity with 350 in attendance. This event focuses on highlighting the impact of our Community's Endowment, debuts our latest annual report, recognizes outgoing trustees, and often honors an outstanding individual with the Marvin C. Lindeman Distinguished Service Award for their commitment to the Foundation.
