Bret Docter – Our New 2018–19 Board Chair

The Board of Trustees of the Community Foundation of the Holland/Zeeland Area elected a new slate of officers during its annual meeting held on May 22, 2018. 

Elected as Board Chair is Bret Docter, Owner of Property Quest, LLC., Docter succeeds Mark Harder, who held the position of chair in 2017. Docter served as chair-elect to Harder for the past year.

A four-year member of CFHZ’s Board of Trustees, Docter has served on multiple Community Foundation committees.

Elected as Board Chair is Bret Docter, Owner of Property Quest, LLC., Docter succeeds Mark Harder, who held the position of chair in 2017. Docter served as chair-elect to Harder for the past year.

A four-year member of CFHZ’s Board of Trustees, Docter has served on multiple Community Foundation committees. He is currently Chair of the Program Related Investment Committee (PRI), and the HEDCOR Committee, and also serves on the Investment, and Governance Committee. A Hope College graduate, Bret is past president of the Lakeshore 504 SBA Board, is both a Leadership Holland and Leadership West Michigan graduate, and is a past chairman of the Board of Directors of the Holland Area Chamber of Commerce. Bret previously held multiple community leadership roles within Park Township. He was a trustee of the Park Township Board, a member of the Park Township Planning Commission, chair of the Park Township Zoning Board of Appeals, and member of the Park Township Property Tax Board of Review. He is also active in church and school activities and boards.

Bret lives on the north side of Holland, is married to Erin and has three children.
